Strength and balance for everyday life

Maintaining Movement

Safe and effective exercise to help you stay confident when you’re out and about, maintain your strength and remain independent.

Classes consider flexibility, balance, strength and cardiovascular fitness. Exercises can be completed seated or standing, so you can work at a level that feels right for you.

What the classes support

  • Walking confidently Improve pace, stride and heel-to-toe movement, with or without walking aids.
  • Rising from a chair Maintain a critical everyday skill that supports independence.
  • Everyday tasks Build the strength and balance needed for dressing, bathing and reaching.
  • Getting around Feel more capable getting in and out of a car, train or bus.
  • Enjoying the garden Practise getting down and up from kneeling or a bent position.

MM Maintaining MovementFor those with previous experience of exercise who need to exercise at a slower pace due to age or infirmity.
SB Strength & BalanceFor those more limited in movement, who feel less confident or may have been referred by a GP or physiotherapist.

Lynne is an advanced specialist instructor with more than 40 years of teaching experience, helping people in Worcester enjoy movement, improve their fitness and feel better in themselves.

Her friendly, down-to-earth approach makes exercise feel achievable—whatever your starting point. There’s no pressure to be the fastest or strongest; just encouragement to keep moving in a way that works for you.
